To honor the memory, service, and community leadership of Brian McCarthy, reflect his passion for the sciences and technology, and continue his commitment to education, this Foundation promotes, advocates, and funds STEM Education and Lifelong Learning Opportunities to the Nashua, NH community.

The Brian S. McCarthy Memorial Foundation was established on March 13, 2019 and is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Foundation was established by friends and family in memory of the longtime Nashua Alderman. The primary purpose of the Brian S. McCarthy Memorial Foundation is to provide scholarship opportunity to students from Nashua North and Nashua South High Schools (in Nashua, NH) who will be matriculating into a collegiate level STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) degree program. We also provide grants for good for in classroom STEM demonstrations thanks to our partnership with the Adult Learning Center and Xploration STEM, and have a community grant "STEMagination" program, which has providing funding to groups such as the Nashua River Watershed Association in support of their STEM Education programing, and the Nashua FIRST Robotics Team, Tough Techs.
